Eighteen Master Warrant Officers were recently promoted to the rank of Air Warrant Officers (AWO) by the Nigerian Air Force at a colourful decoration ceremony held at the Headquarters in Abuja. The promotion was in recognition of the impeccable character and unblemished records of service of the airmen having served in the Nigerian Air Force for over 30 years.
It would be recalled that the first batch of AWOs was promoted by the NAF in 1976. Though the practice was stopped for sometime, it was reintroduced again in 1998. Since then a total of 80 AWOs have been promoted. The list of the newly promoted AWOs include: AWO Izoma G, Adeniyi I, Kambasaya M, Sampson U, Bako S, and Bello U. Others are Kabantiok J, Jaji O, Tungon P, Avenrenrem J, Salihu A and Nweke A. The rest are Obeten B, Ogwoni I, Avor J, Ene J, Likita J, and Abdul A.
